Launching now.

NISK Capital and Invention Studios are coming together to support and promote a first-of-its-kind fund.

The Anansi Fund aims to provide resources and support for African filmmakers and television creators, enabling their work to reach international audiences and transcend the limitations of domestic viewership. Until now, limited production resources and infrastructure have confined the growth of the film industry to small pockets of just a few prominent African countries, rather than across the continent.

To address this, Nairobi-based NISK Capital and Hollywood-based Invention Studios are forging an unprecedented partnership to provide the creative and financial fuel to African creators that can help propel them into the global market, amplifying African stories worldwide and catalyzing Africa's creative economy.

Invention Studios is an independent production company devoted to bold and original storytelling and to supporting extraordinary creators around the world.  Invention – with executives in Los Angeles, Melbourne, Mumbai, Nairobi, and Kampala – is currently producing movies and television series with Paramount, Amazon, FX, CBS, EOne, Fifth Season, Fremantle, Village Roadshow, Square One in Germany, Mediawan in France, Abot Hemeiri in Israel, FilmOne in Nigeria and more.  Invention is also the home of Craft Services, an online creative community and project incubator currently supporting emerging screenwriters and filmmakers across the globe.

NISK Capital is an East African Investment Advisory Firm based in Kenya that represents more than 50 years of combined investments and governance experience with more than US$ 1.5bn in transactions advised across various sectors in East Africa.

Our Wide Geographic Footprint

Anansi will back a diverse slate of projects of groundbreaking quality and reach. The goals of the fund will be high risk-adjusted returns for investors through the projects’ earnings and uncorrelated revenue streams; better remuneration for filmmakers in Africa; and the enrichment of the African entertainment industry and its creative ecosystems continent-wide.

Creative talent exists around the world and across Africa. Real financial support and empowering creative opportunities should as well.
